JERA, Japan's largest power producer, has acknowledged exploring opportunities to supply electricity to a U.S. data center, following a Nikkei report about a potential $3 billion gas-fired plant.
However, the company clarified that no project agreements have been finalized and no official announcements are imminent, according to a statement on Tuesday.
