European Airlines Expected to Maintain High Fares -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-22

0932 GMT - European airlines aren't expected to be in a hurry to lower fares, after having increased them to offset fuel-cost headwinds, Deutsche Bank Research analysts say in a research note. "Our fares tracker continues to show strength in long-haul pricing relative to short-haul, and in particular in premium long-haul," they add. While target prices are raised for Deutsche Lufthansa, Air France-KLM and International Consolidated Airlines Group, IAG remains the preferred investment due to its stronger margins, cash generation and attractive valuation. IAG shares trade 1.6% higher at 462.3 pence. (nina.kienle@wsj.com)
