Asahi's Profit Slides 8.4% in Fiscal Q1

Asahi's (TYO:3333) profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 8.4% to 2.14 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 2.34 billion yen a year earlier.

The bicycle parts and accessories company's basic earnings per share declined to 82.18 yen from 89.71 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.

Net sales rose 2.5% to 27.8 billion yen for the three months ended May 20 from 27.1 billion yen in the prior-year period.

For the fiscal year ending Feb. 20, 2027, the company expects attributable profit of 2.73 billion yen, basic EPS of 104.83 yen, and net sales of 86.3 billion yen.

Asahi plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 25 yen per share each for the current fiscal year, matching the 50 yen per share paid in the year-ago period.
