AbbVie has won expanded European Commission approvals for its blockbuster autoimmune drug Skyrizi and its hepatitis C drug Maviret.
AbbVie on Tuesday said Skyrizi is now approved in Europe for patients ages 6 and older with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy.
Skyrizi was previously approved in Europe for adults with the chronic autoimmune disease.
The North Chicago, Ill., biopharmaceutical company said the new approval includes a new 55-milligram pre-filled syringe to support weight-based dosing for patients weighing less than 40 kilograms.
Separately, AbbVie said the EC approved Maviret for the treatment of acute hepatitis C virus infection in people ages 3 and older.
Maviret, which is sold in the U.S. as Mavyret, is now the only treatment approved in the European Union for both acute and chronic hepatitis C virus infection, AbbVie said.
