JD.com (JD) plans to replace its 700,000 delivery workers with robots in the future, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing JD.com founder and chairman Richard Liu.
Liu did not disclose a timeline but said JD.com already has contracts in place with about 120 schools that will train its couriers in new capacities like repairs and robot maintenance, the report added.
JD.com did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
