Software company 8x8 said a cyberattack leaked certain information stored in its customer relationship management system.
The company disclosed Tuesday an unauthorized third party exploited its Klue Labs third-party application programming integration connected to its Salesforce customer relationship management system, gaining access to and exfiltrating certain information from the system between June 11-12.
8x8 said the cyberattacker exfiltrated competitively sensitive information about current, former and prospective customers of the company, including fragmented contract and opportunity information, sales team notes and contact information.
The company said it believes the incident was isolated to information stored in its Salesforce system that was accessible through the Klue integration. 8x8 and Klue, with help from Salesforce, took steps to disable the compromised integration and removed the unauthorized access, the company said.
The company said it does not expect the incident to have a material affect on its operations or financial condition. It continues to investigate the extent of the incident, and is in the process of notifying regulatory authorities.
