AMTD Idea (AMTD), AMTD Digital (HKD) and Generation Essentials Group (TGE) said Monday they intend to accelerate their existing share repurchase programs, citing confidence in long-term growth prospects.
The companies said they have repurchased about 4.42 million American depositary shares of AMTD Idea, 2.8 million ADSs of AMTD Digital and 284,538 ordinary shares of Generation Essentials Group to date.
Separately, AMTD Group and AMTD Idea said they have voluntarily committed to retaining their Generation Essentials Group holdings for two years, matching a similar pledge previously made by AMTD Digital and its management team.
The companies said their boards view the shares of their listed entities as materially undervalued relative to their underlying fundamentals and reaffirmed their opposition to short-selling activities.
AMTD Idea shares fell 0.2%, AMTD Digital rose 1.5%, and Generation Essentials Group fell 0.8%.
