Dell Technologies Unveils New Server Designed for AI Workloads

Dell Technologies (DELL) introduced the PowerEdge XE8812, a new server designed to handle large AI- computing workloads and built with Nvidia's (NVDA) Vera Rubin platform.

The system uses direct liquid cooling and is built for high-density deployments, supporting up to 144 graphics processors per rack to run large models in memory, Dell said Monday in a statement.

The US Department of Energy will use the servers to build the Doudna supercomputer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Dell said.

The PowerEdge XE8812 will be available globally early next year, Dell said.

Dell shares rose 2.5% in Monday trading, and Nvidia fell 0.9%.
