Australian Dollar in Clear Downtrend Vs. U.S. Dollar, Chart Shows -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-24

0030 GMT - The Australian dollar is in a clear downtrend against its U.S. counterpart, based on its daily chart, StoneX's Matt Simpson says in commentary. Also, the Australian dollar-U.S. dollar pair closed near the session low on Tuesday, the senior market analyst notes. Hence, a downward move of the Australian dollar toward the March low just above US$0.6800 seems feasible, he says. Also, Australia-U.S. yield differentials continue to point lower for the currency pair, the analyst adds. The Australian dollar is little changed at US$0.6915, LSEG data show.
