Aevex (AVEX) said Tuesday that it has been awarded the next option year of California's Fire Integrated Real-Time Intelligence System contract, valued at $15.2 million.
The US defense technology company said the contract extends its role as the program's provider of real-time airborne intelligence services for wildfire response and emergency management.
Aevex said the program combines airborne sensors, real-time fire-spread modeling, and rapid data transmission to provide situational awareness for first responders and state agencies.
The company said the system is designed to support incident commanders during wildfire response and other emergency situations.
