Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Friday

Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.9% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.1%.

DraftKings (DKNG) shares were up more than 2% after the company launched its proprietary prediction markets exchange, DKeX, integrated into its DraftKings: Sports & Casino app, expanding its prediction markets platform and strengthening its sportsbook offering.

Unilever (UL) is considering a bid for Thorne, a South Carolina-based company that sells dietary supplement pills, valued at up to $4 billion, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Unilever stock was 0.6% higher premarket.

Coca-Cola (KO) said Jennifer Mann will step down from her role as EVP and president of its North America Operating Unit, effective Aug. 1. Shares of Coca-Cola were up 0.7% pre-bell.
