1323 ET - For now, OpenAI's foray into advertising shouldn't pose a threat to the major advertising platforms of Meta Platforms, Google, and Amazon, JPMorgan analysts write in a note. If the AI lab is able to prove conversion rates and return on ad spend, its scale could make it a serious competitor in the longer term. But its advertising technology is in an early stage and the commercialization of agentic platforms seems low, they write. "We expect OpenAI's initial advertising share gains to come from experimental budgets rather than taking share of sustained, high ROI-spending from core channels such as GOOG/L, META, & AMZN," the analysts write.
