DraftKings is doubling down on its prediction-markets strategy with the launch of its own proprietary exchange.
The company said Friday that the prediction-markets exchange, DKeX, would be integrated into its mobile app and allow it to deliver a differentiated sports experience alongside its sportsbook.
DraftKings made a big bet on prediction markets late last year with the launch of DraftKings Predictions, which saw major customer volume gains in recent months and helped swing the company to a profit during the first quarter.
With DKeX, DraftKings takes over the backend exchange engine and technology platform for its predictions feature, which had been powered by CME Group when the feature first launched.
