Market Chatter: Cal-Maine May Resolve Claims of Price Coordination

MT Newswires Live06-25

Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) and other egg producers may soon resolve Justice Department and state investigations into alleged illegal price coordination, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing unnamed people familiar with the resolution.

The egg producers will pay civil penalties and donate more than 50 million eggs under terms of a settlement, and will no longer exchange price and other sensitive information, the report said.

Ca-Maine did not immediately respond to an MT Newswires request for comment.
