Ioneer (ASX:INR) received a conditional award from the US Army for a long-term land lease on the Tooele Army Depot in Utah for the purpose of establishing a critical mineral processing facility, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The army is seeking to establish domestic processing capacity for boron in its collaboration with Ioneer USA. A formal lease agreement is in negotiation, and an initial operating capability is targeted by, or
ahead of 2028.
Its shares rose 7% in recent trading on Friday.
