Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) said results from the first diamond hole, completed below the Flushing Meadows deposit at the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee project in Western Australia, demonstrated that fresh rock gold mineralization is hosted within deformed and altered iron-rich sediments, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

It encountered intercepts of 11.3 meters at 1.1 grams-per-tonne grade of gold from 214.3 meters, as well as 1.9 meters at 2 g/t grade of gold from 280.3 meters.

The results, combined with geological observations from the diamond core, will inform a revised geological model for the deposit.

Its shares fell 4% in recent trading on Thursday.
