AC Immune (ACIU) said Tuesday that interim data from its phase 1b/2 trial of its immunotherapy candidate ACI-24 showed antibody responses at every dose level in patients with prodromal Alzheimer's disease.

The drug candidate was also found to be generally safe and well tolerated, with no evidence of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities-edema, according to the company.

The analysis covered 74 patients across three cohorts treated for 12 months with ACI-24, the company said.

AC Immune said it is now testing an enhanced version of the therapy using an additional adjuvant in a fourth group of patients.

Shares of AC Immune were down more than 11% in premarket activity Tuesday.
