Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI has begun a restricted preview of its GPT-5.6 artificial intelligence model, introducing three separate tiers called Sol, Terra, and Luna, the AI firm said Friday.
The top-tier Sol model features enhanced automated protections against cybersecurity risks, a max reasoning effort mode that uses subagents for detailed workflows, and an ultra mode for handling complex tasks, the company said.
The developer said it limited the initial rollout to selected partners and the government at the request of federal officials.
