The Austrian government has proposed that the European Union consider Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic's establishment within the bloc in response to the US government's move to limit foreign use of the company's advanced artificial intelligence models, news outlets reported Sunday.
News reports cited a letter that Austrian State Secretary for Digitalization Alexander Proll sent to Henna Virkkunen, the European Commission's Executive Vice-President for Technological Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy.
Anthropic did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
