Schneider Electric is at Critical Turning Point

Dow Jones06-29

1001 GMT - Schneider Electric's second quarter is a pivotal moment, with expectations for a clear operational turnaround and a likely guidance beat and raise, Barclays analysts say in a research note. Sentiment has improved for the French group as pricing discipline and stronger volumes in electrification and grid infrastructure are expected to restore confidence in earnings momentum, the analysts say. The data-center segment remains the main growth driver, with particular upside potential in China and East Asia, where the analysts believe the market is underestimating Schneider's position. Guidance upgrades to organic growth are anticipated, while margin performance is expected to slightly exceed consensus, they add. The main debate remains Schneider's valuation, leaving room for re-rating if execution continues to improve, they say. Shares trade broadly flat at 275.5 euros. (nina.kienle@wsj.com)
