Amazon (AMZN) has agreed to a $2.25 million settlement to resolve US claims that it routinely failed to provide records needed to assist victims of identity theft, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing a court filing.

The Federal Trade Commission investigated allegations that Amazon was in breach of a requirement under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the news report added.

Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
