Anthropic Restores Access to Latest Claude AI Models After Discussions With US Government

Amazon.com (AMZN) and Alphabet-backed (GOOG, GOOGL) Anthropic's export restrictions on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 large language models have been lifted by the US Department of Commerce, the company said Tuesday.

"We'll begin restoring access tomorrow," the company said in a post on social media platform X.

According to news reports, access was restricted over concerns that they could be used to circumvent cybersecurity protections at government or corporate enterprises.

The restrictions were removed following conversations with the US government, the company said.

Anthropic is working with Amazon, Microsoft (MSFT), Google and others to assess security concerns.
