SKY Perfect JSAT (TYO:9412) said Sky PerfecTV! total subscribers fell by 12,973 in June as churn exceeded new subscribers, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The multichannel pay TV service added 30,961 new subscribers but saw 43,934 cancellations, leaving a total subscriber base of 2.4 million at month-end.
Total contractors fell by 11,175 to 1.8 million, while the number of subscribing households for optical fiber-based retransmission services increased by 7,651 to 3 million.
