Nine Entertainment Co. Holdings (ASX:NEC) reached an agreement with Microsoft allowing Microsoft Copilot to reference the text of Nine's masthead content, beyond paywalled previews, during artificial intelligence searches to contextualize and "ground" outputs, according to a Friday statement.

The agreement covers content from across Nine's mastheads, including The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Brisbane Times, and WAToday.

Copilot will display snippets, headlines, and summaries from Nine's content and will direct audiences to Nine's mastheads for the complete story.

Its shares rose 3% in recent trading on Friday.
