Wells Fargo Recruits $1.7 Billion Advisor Team from RBC Capital Markets

Dow Jones07-08

Wells Fargo Advisors has recruited a $1.7 billion advisory team based in Greenwich, Conn., from RBC Capital Markets. The Sheresky Samsen Group joined Wells Fargo on Monday.

The team includes Managing Directors Steven Sheresky and Jeffrey Sheresky, brothers, and Jeffrey Samsen. Steve Sheresky's son Kenneth is the group's senior vice president of investments. Client associates Jeannine Barlotta and Stanley Weeks also joined Wells Fargo through the move. The practice's clients include high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and trusts, according to Wells Fargo.

"The Sheresky Samsen Group of Wells Fargo Advisors is an excellent addition to our Metro North market," says Anthony Arico, Metro North market leader at Wells Fargo Advisors. "They've built their business around deep client relationships and thoughtful, long-term planning."

RBC didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the team's departure.

The move is the latest in a series of recruiting wins for Wells Fargo, including both its traditional brokerage channel and FiNet, its platform for independent advisors. Some of the recent additions include a $6 billion team hired from Morgan Stanley, $1.6 billion group that joined from UBS, and a $1.4 billion practice recruited from Bank of America's Merrill Lynch.

The latest addition brings a wealth of experience. The Sheresky brothers are both 41-year veterans of the industry who first registered with J.P. Morgan Securities in 1985. They jumped to Morgan Stanley in 2013 and then joined RBC in 2020.

Samsen broke in with J.P. Morgan in 1986 and moved to Morgan Stanley and then RBC along with the Sheresky brothers. Kenneth Sheresky entered the industry in 2017 with Morgan Stanley and moved with the team to RBC in 2020.
