SEALSQ (LAES) and GlobalFoundries (GFS) said Wednesday they signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop post-quantum cryptography and semiconductor-based quantum computing technologies across secure microchip platforms.
The partnership focuses on creating certified hardware protection modules, unified chiplet architectures, and a CryoCMOS ecosystem, the companies said.
The companies will collaborate with GlobalFoundries' MIPS unit to manufacture pre-certified PQC security components for specialized computing systems, according to a statement.
The production rollout will use factories in the US to support supply for European and domestic markets, the companies said.
Shares of SEALSQ and GlobalFoundries were down 1.4% and 2% respectively in premarket activity Wednesday.
