Mitsubishi UFJ Financial (TYO:8306) will roll out an AI-satellite system from fiscal 2027 to inspect property collateral, cutting up to 10,000 man-hours yearly from physical visits, Nikkei Asia reported on Wednesday.
The bank currently performs on-site reappraisals every few years for loans, especially for land and buildings, the news daily said.
The AI‑driven satellite system, which launches in Tokyo and later expands nationwide, scans for changes such as demolitions to eliminate routine follow‑up visits unless major alterations are found, the publication said.
Mitsubishi UFJ Financial didn't immediately respond to MT Newswire's request for comment.
