Market Chatter: BP Interim Chair Ian Tyler Weighs Permanent Role

MT Newswires Live07-06

BP (BP) interim Chair Ian Tyler is considering entering the race to become the company's permanent chair, six weeks after Albert Manifold's ousting, Sky News reported Monday.

It was unclear Monday whether Tyler had formally put himself forward as part of the recruitment process being overseen by Senior Independent Director Dame Amanda Blanc, according to the report.

A BP spokesperson told MT Newswires, "The board is undertaking a comprehensive search process. BP will not be providing a running commentary."
