REalloys said it signed a letter of intent with South Korea's JS Link to evaluate co-developing an integrated North American rare-earth magnet manufacturing platform.
The companies said they will explore combining REalloys' North American rare-earth supply chain, processing and metallization capabilities with JS Link's permanent magnet manufacturing technology to create one of the first fully integrated non-Chinese rare-earth supply chains spanning feedstock, separation, metallization and magnet production.
The proposed partnership would target customers in industries including defense, aerospace, automotive, robotics, artificial intelligence infrastructure and energy, while also evaluating government financing opportunities, strategic industrial partnerships and commercialization initiatives.
The letter of intent is non-binding, and the companies said there is no assurance they will reach definitive agreements or complete a transaction.
