Take-two's 'GTA VI' Supercycle is Just Beginning

Dow Jones07-08

1351 ET - The upcoming release of "Grand Theft Auto VI" represents a supercycle for Take-Two Interactive Software that is only beginning, Benchmark analyst Mike Hickey writes in a note. Since "GTA V" was released in 2013, the company has grown its live-service operating experience and abilities in player acquisition and monetization, while players are more used to continuing digital engagement, subscriptions and live-service content. "The larger long-term opportunity extends well beyond initial software sales," Hickey writes. "Rockstar's ability to acquire, engage, retain and monetize what we believe will become one of the world's largest entertainment ecosystems should ultimately become the primary driver of long-term value creation."
