11:13 ET -- NATO's selection of Saab's GlobalEye platform is massive for Bombardier, but the benefits won't come immediately. Saab said NATO selected the GlobalEye aircraft to replace its E-3 AWACS fleet, a system that is built on Bombardier's Global 6500 business jet. TD Cowen's Tim James says in a report that there is still a ways to go before the news turns into a working contract. The analyst notes there are no formal contract or orders yet, which suggests that deliveries aren't likely to occur until the latter part of decade. "The order is not expected to bias Bombardier earnings expectations higher for the coming years given negotiations are just beginning," he says. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
