Frontier Airlines to Sell 11 Incoming Airbus Planes to Avolon

The parent company of Frontier Airlines has agreed to sell 11 Airbus A321neo jets to a subsidiary of aircraft lessor Avolon.

Frontier Group said Wednesday that late last month, it reached a deal with Avolon Leasing Ireland 3 to sell the 11 aircraft at the time of their delivery.

Three of the 11 planes are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year, with the rest to follow in the first half of 2027, based on current delivery dates.

The sale is part of Frontier's effort to right-size its fleet and increase productivity. The jets are being sold at current market rates, with transition-related costs and remarketing costs factored in.

In light of the sale, Frontier expects to take delivery of 22 planes this year and exit 2026 with a fleet of 171 aircraft.
