BCE's (BCE) Bell Canada and Universite de Sherbrooke said Wednesday they signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on quantum systems, post-quantum cybersecurity, and eco-friendly data centers.
The parties said they intend to design computing systems that merge high-performance networks with protected data structures to test and scale new technologies in real-world settings.
Bell Canada will work alongside the institution and Queen's University to connect national computing platforms with quantum networks to keep sensitive data within the country, according to a statement.
The partnership will also focus on adapting infrastructure to modern cryptographic standards and testing data center setups configured for regional energy use and thermal recovery, the parties said.
