Mira Pharmaceuticals' (MIRA) oral formulation of its oral drug candidate MIRA-55 as a non-opioid therapy for chronic inflammatory pain showed "positive" results in pre-clinical studies, supporting its continued development, the clinical-stage company said.
The objective of the study was to optimize the MIRA-55's oral formulation, the company said. The one used showed "reproducible distribution into both brain and liver tissue" following intake, the company added.
Shares of Mira were up more than 4% in recent Friday premarket activity.
