WD-40 delivered a strong beat in its fiscal third quarter as topline strength and upside to gross margins led to significant flow through against a stable cost structure, DA Davidson analysts say in a research note. Total sales jumped 24%, driven by strong demand, but also thanks to some early ordering as customers try to get ahead of price increases that are set to be implemented this summer in Europe and Asia, the analysts say. "As a result, we do not expect the same level of top line growth in 4Q," they note. Still, the stock has been an outperformer this year and likely has room to grow, the analysts say. They raise their price target to $305 from $270, as shares gain 17% premarket, to $280. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
