Equinox Gold output rose over the previous quarter thanks to accelerating production across its portfolio of Canadian mines.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based miner said on Thursday that it produced 11% more gold in the quarter, reaching 176,836 ounces of consolidated gold output.
This was supported by 97,273 ounces of combined gold production from its Valentine gold mine in Newfoundland and Labrador and Greenstone gold mines in Ontario.
The company benefited from improved processing, where days operating above nameplate capacity reached 69% of days.
"Production from our Canadian operations continues to steadily increase with notable performance indicators highlighting progress in the ramp-up of our two long-life, Canadian mines," said Chief Executive Darren Hall.
Hall said the company expects a stronger second half of the year for production on the back of a more focused operation execution and optimization.
