Ryanair Flight Returns to Greece After Passenger Window Detaches Mid-Air

MT Newswires Live06:18

A Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, returned shortly after takeoff after a passenger window detached during the flight, with one passenger nearly being pulled outside the aircraft, AFP reported Friday.

The passenger, a Serbian tourist, suffered friction burns and was hospitalized in good condition after nearby passengers pulled him back into his seat. AFP, citing Greek media, said the window was damaged by debris that detached from one of the aircraft's engines over North Macedonia.

Ryanair said the aircraft landed normally in Thessaloniki and passengers returned to the terminal before boarding a replacement aircraft to continue to Memmingen.
