Tencent (HKG:0700) is in talks to acquire control of artificial intelligence startup Manus for at least $2 billion after China ordered the U.S.-based company to reverse its acquisition, Reuters and the Financial Times reported Friday, citing two people with knowledge of the matter.
The Chinese internet giant is acting with original Manus investors ZhenFund and HSG to take over the startup, the report said.
Tencent, Manus, and Meta have not yet responded to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
