0420 GMT - Frasers Centrepoint Trust joining a consortium to bid for a Singapore mixed-use site appears to fit with its retail platform's strategy, says Jefferies' Wilson Ng in a note. The consortium placed the highest bid of 2.1 billion Singapore dollars for a mixed-used commercial and residential site, the analyst says. This could secure an additional income stream for the real-estate investment trust at a lower cost than buying a completed asset, if the bid is awarded, he says. He estimates a near-term drag of up to 2.0% on Frasers Centrepoint's distribution per unit to fund the development, which could later result in DPU accretion of around 5.0% once the completed mall starts generating income. Jefferies retains its buy rating and target price of S$2.55. Units fall 0.9% to S$2.24. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
