1614 ET - Wingstop's growing focus on local advertising could become a growth lever, say BTIG analysts Peter Saleh and Ben Parente. They added several franchisees now have weekday specials, local high-school team sponsorships and fundraising to augment their national media presence. They estimated the franchisees could be spending as much as 1% to 1.5% of sales to support local efforts and drive transactions. After traffic bottomed in March, the analysts say aggressive promotions, the World Cup and the Smart Kitchen, an AI-powered technology platform to make operations more efficient, have led to improved consumer sentiment and traffic in 2Q.
