MT Newswires Live17:52

Boeing (BA) and Airbus have chartered large cargo planes like the Antonov An-124 in recent weeks to accelerate aerostructures' shipments for certain civil and military aircraft amid supply chain issues, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing industry sources and two regulatory filings.

Reuters said an Airbus spokesperson confirmed the company's use of Antonov "sometimes." Meanwhile, a Boeing spokesperson told the newswire that the company relies on "a variety of transportation methods" to maintain stable production.

Boeing and Airbus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
