The S&P 500 rose 0.4 per cent early Wednesday and was on track for a fourth gain in five days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 57 points, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.6 per cent. The U.S. market got a lift from another report showing that inflation slowed in the United States last month.
