Bank of Korea Raises Interest Rates to 2.75%

The Bank of Korea raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 2.75%, according to a Thursday statement.

The move matched the consensus in a Reuters poll, with 36 of 37 economists forecasting a 25-basis-point increase to 2.75%.

The rate hike marks the central bank's first increase in three and a half years.
