1131 GMT - BASF's unchanged guidance for free cash flow disappoints and implies that higher raw material costs are offsetting profitability upgrades, Bernstein analysts James Hooper and Sebastien Afoy say in a research note. Despite this, Bernstein reaffirms its positive view of the German chemical giant. "We still consider BASF well positioned to manage the current macro environment, as shown by their higher volumes," the analysts say. They expect the gap between profitability and cash generation to shrink over time, adding that the slightly disappointing print shouldn't obscure catalysts, like the upcoming separation of the agricultural-solutions business. Shares trade 3.7% lower at 47.56 euros. (nina.kienle@wsj.com)
