Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella has criticized Anthropic's artificial intelligence model Fable for being overly restrictive, saying its handling of certain user requests is "editorially controlled," CNBC reported Thursday, citing remarks he made to Microsoft engineers.
Nadella questioned why an AI creation tool would refuse some user requests and argued the approach "doesn't make sense," according to the report.
Anthropic had earlier said Fable includes safeguards that may block some requests and restored the model with stricter protections after temporarily restricting access to comply with US export controls, the report said.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
