MT Newswires Live17:26

Near-term business sentiment among Hong Kong's large enterprises turned cautious for the third quarter of 2026, with 14% of surveyed firms expecting conditions to worsen compared with 10% anticipating an improvement, according to the data from the Hong Kong government Friday.

More respondents in the transportation, storage, and courier services; real estate; and professional and business services sectors expect a worse business situation in Q3.

However, more companies in the financing and insurance industry anticipate a better business situation in the period than the preceding quarter.

Respondents in most surveyed sectors expect business volume or output to decrease on balance or remain unchanged in the quarter, with employment and selling prices also largely anticipated to remain steady.
