As crypto.news reported earlier, the company added 27,801 ETH in the previous week, taking its holdings to 5.77 million tokens. The latest 7,430 ETH purchase pushed that figure slightly higher.\nBitMine Chairman Tom Lee linked the slower pace of Ethereum purchases to the company’s decision to allocate capital toward its own shares.\n“Over the past week, we acquired 7,430 ETH,” Lee said. He added that the slower buying pace reflected the company’s stock repurchases. BitMine said it has continued buying Ethereum every week since launching its ETH treasury strategy on June 30, 2025.\nDuring the past week, BitMine repurchased about 5.5 million common shares at an average price of $15.6156. The transactions were carried out under its previously authorized $4 billion share repurchase program. Lee said the company viewed the purchases as beneficial to shareholder value, although the future effect will depend on the company’s stock performance and capital allocation.\nThe decision marks a shift in weekly capital deployment rather than a pause in the company’s Ethereum strategy. BitMine remains focused on what it calls the “Alchemy of 5%,” its goal of controlling 5% of Ethereum’s supply. Based on the company’s own estimate, its current 4.8% holding places it about 96% of the way toward that target.\nBitMine stakes 85% of its Ethereum treasury\nBitMine has also placed most of its Ethereum holdings into staking. The company reported 4,917,189 ETH staked as of July 19, equal to about 85% of its 5.78 million ETH treasury. At the company’s stated ETH price, the staked assets were valued at roughly $9.2 billion.\nThe company said its current staking operations could generate about $247 million in annualized revenue based on recent returns. It also projected that annual rewards could reach about $290 million if its entire Ethereum position were eventually staked through its MAVAN platform and other partners. Those figures remain estimates and can change with Ethereum staking yields, validator performance and the amount of ETH deployed.\nThe latest figures follow a sharp rise in BitMine’s staking income. Crypto.news reported last week that Ethereum staking and validation generated $45.7 million during the three months ended May 31. That represented 98% of the company’s $46.5 million quarterly revenue.\nBitMine started native Ethereum staking in November 2025 before launching its Made in America Validator Network, known as MAVAN, in March 2026. The company has positioned the platform to support its own holdings while also targeting institutional investors, custodians and other partners.\nEthereum treasury remains close to the 5% target\nBitMine’s latest purchase extends a year of rapid Ethereum accumulation. Just one week earlier, its treasury stood at 5,770,038 ETH after it bought 27,801 tokens. The company has continued adding ETH even as Ethereum prices have traded well below levels seen during earlier stages of its accumulation strategy.\nBitMine’s growing ETH treasury has also made staking a larger part of its operating business. Its latest quarterly filing showed that staking and validation had become its main revenue source, replacing much of the activity from its earlier Bitcoin mining and equipment operations.\nThe company also holds investments outside Ethereum. Its July 20 disclosure listed a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and a $58 million position in Eightco Holdings, alongside $385 million in cash and marketable securities.
