Hamelin Gold's (ASX:HMG) maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the Day Dawn gold project in Western Australia confirmed a zone of high-grade, shallow gold mineralization at the Aurora lode, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
It encountered intercepts of three meters at 93.4 grams per tonne grade of gold from nine meters, as well as four meters at 21 g/t grade of gold from 27 meters, from the first 15 drill holes of the program.
Multiple parallel lode targets were recognized, and the firm plans to begin the second phase of reverse circulation drilling in August.
Its shares surged 50% in recent trading on Monday.
