Argan, WDP Look Set to Gain from Merger

Dow Jones07-24

0903 GMT - WDP merger with France's Argan appears attractive, Berenberg analysts Kai Klose and Yudith Karunaratna write in a note. French warehouse specialist Argan and Belgian peer WDP agreed to create a 13 billion-euro logistics real estate company through an all-share merger. WDP's development activities in France should benefit from the merger, they note. Additionally, both rental portfolios appear complementary, with high tenant solvency and good-quality properties in strategic locations, they say. "The operational efficiency of both companies is already high and should improve further on a combined basis," they add. Argan shares are up 15.7% and WDP shares are down 1.8%.
