SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) is mulling acquiring Gravis Robotics in a deal that could value the Swiss technology startup at $500 million, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Japanese technology investor plans to hold the interest in the robotics firm in a new subsidiary, Roze, the report said.

The transaction can be completed in several stages, including the acquisition of existing shares and injecting additional capital over time, the report said.

SoftBank Group and Gravis Robotics did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
